1 Step 1: God's Purpose — Peace and Life
Design & Love
God loves you and created you to have peace with Him and abundant life.
Romans 5:1: "Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."
John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
John 10:10: "I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."
Peace with God (being reconciled to Him) is deeper than peace of mind. It is the end of our separation from our Creator.

2 Step 2: Our Problem — Separation
The Chasm
God created us in His image to know Him, and He gave us a will and freedom of choice. We chose to disobey Him and go our own way. That rebellion is sin.
Romans 3:23: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
Romans 6:23: "For the wages of sin is death..."
Isaiah 59:2: "But your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear."
People try to bridge the gap through good works, religion, philosophy, or morality, but every human bridge falls short.
Proverbs 14:12: "There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death."

3 Step 3: God's Bridge — The Cross
The Divine Bridge
Jesus Christ is the ONLY bridge across that gap. He died on the cross in our place and rose from the grave.
1 Peter 3:18: "For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God..."
1 Timothy 2:5: "For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus."
Romans 5:8: "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

4 Step 4: Our Response — Receive Christ
Cross the Bridge
Knowing the bridge exists is not enough. You must personally cross it by faith.
To receive Christ:
Admit your need: "I am a sinner."
Turn from your sins (repent) and ask for God's forgiveness.
Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross and rose from the grave.
Receive Him through prayer as Lord and Savior, inviting Him to control your life through the Holy Spirit.
John 1:12: "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name."
Romans 10:9: "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
Revelation 3:20: "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me."
